About The Production Company

DEVELOPMENT THROUGH MEDIA (DTM)

DTM responded to the request by the organising committee to document the deliberation, develop audio content and disseminate the same on Radio Baraza (RB), the broadcast space dedicated to CSO and development sector advocacy.

DTM is among the first non-profit and development oriented audio-media organisation to set up in Kenya. DTM arose in 1997 as a local idea in response to challenges that have continued to stand in the way of developing independent and all-inclusive media and broadcasting models/institutions for advocacy work in Kenya and East Africa.

Development Television (DevTV) and RB are crated and managed by DTM. In particular, RB combines content production and promotion strategies with a fully-fledged online broadcast component. The RB is especially designed as a response strategy for addressing felt needs by CSOs and the development sector overall, for enhanced programmes’ reach to wider constituencies in sustained ways. Hence, RB is also a response to the sector’s search for a more united approach to implementing our content development, promotion and broadcasting. RB especially endeavours to complement the communication departments of partner organisations by creating new opportunities for ensuring that advocacy messages are accessible to wider audiences in sustained ways. The aim is therefore to improve outreach, occasion effective delivery of results and in the process contribute to the realisation of sustainable outcomes.
