A Hospital Too Far
“A hospital too far” is a scene from Dommie Yambo-Odotte’s 1996 award-winning documentary “the Women’s Agenda”. it depicts the story of the African woman as she turns her 24-hour day into 48-hour one, toiling and toiling as if paying for the failures of African governments to deliver on the development agenda set forth at independence. The clip makes it even easier to understand the inclusion of Affirmative Action, the Bill of Rights , other women friendly as well as other progressive provisions in Kenya’s new Constitution. And now we must embark on the crucial task of implementing the constitution. Perhaps it is the solution to the burden upon women?
